Ventisquero Vertice 2014

From the Ventisquero Icon range, a near 50/50 blend of Carmenere and Syrah. Luxuriously deep and succulent, complex layered fruit and spices give this wine potential for both early drinking as well as ageing ability.

A pronounced sweet raspberry and strawberry nose. An excellent deep colour and faint ruby rim swirl in the glass. Incredibly supple tannins from the near 10 years of ageing make this immediately engaging. There is excellent depth though, with a subdued acidity making the wine nicely bracing following into soft red fruits merging into a just a touch of greenness and mint. The wine does not, however, end there, with a wonderful length offering up a creamy vanilla finish. MD (tasted Apr-23)
