Dalla Valle Vineyards Collina 2012

2012 was a spectacular vintage in Napa Valley, with mild temperatures, very little precipitation, and an Indian summer that lasted until late October.  The fruit on the Dalla Valle estate ripened beautifully, allowing us to harvest over several weeks with optimum flavor, aromatics, and tannin.  The 2012 Collina Dalla Valle, produced mainly from younger vines on the estate, highlights the delicacy, precision, and richness of the vintage.  A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the wine brings forth the best of the terrior, aromas of dried flowers, red raspberries, black currant, gravel, and smoke.
The intention with Collina Dalla Valle is that the wine is accessible upon release.  However, for those who are patient, the wine will continue to evolve over the next 15-20 years in the bottle.
